With globalization taking over the world at the speed of light and redefining the traditional ways of how successful businesses are shaped, it was only a matter of time before companies began adopting new ways of striving for success beyond their locale and on a global scale.

It was also a matter of time when we would begin a series of conversations about what it means to be successful in today’s context of a hyperconnected, highly globalized, and high-tech-driven world. For the first time, GSD Venture Studios is proud to bring Silicon Valley AI and Tech live for the first time — and I will be hosting the show.

From the very beginning, the inspiration and idea behind GSD Studios was to introduce a whole new model for young and promising teams and startups to succeed. The pillars of our venture — or our venture studio — was to allow rising companies expand their horizons, think bigger, and aim higher: success for us means success globally; resources mean networks across borders; mentorship means two-way and cross-generational team-building and collaboration. And with each portfolio company preparing to go global, my partner and I take direct participation and involvement at an executive level to personally lead the company towards the promised leadership position in the global arena.

Some of our leadership in building successful companies on a global scale has seen success in young companies with roots in Russia, seeking to establish a strong foothold in Silicon Valley and establish a bridge that would connect the brightest minds from various geographic locations and across physical borders. With the best engineering experts with a Russian background, paired with the executive, marketing, sales, and operations leadership of GSD within the US, these success stories are the epitome of the adaptable and diverse business models that will define true success in the future.

And there are so many developments in technology — AI solutions specifically — that promise a future unlike any we could have imagined. If you think about it, some of these changes that may seem futuristic are actually seamless parts of our lives today, from AI assistants like Alexa or Siri that help you with day-to-day tasks or customer support chat bots that help you quick questions about products and services. Some of these changes are much larger and serve much more serious causes: AI-powered video technology today has the potential to assist public spaces in maintaining safety standards by helping people keep social distance and remind them to wear protective gear; heat-detecting cameras can even identify elevated temperatures in people frequenting common spaces and help fight the battle against the global health crisis humanity faces today.

And now, through the talk show, we hope to share the ideas of the future of tech, Silicon Valley, and the business world we have watched take a solid shape over our years of experience. Most of all, we will be bringing the idea and mission behind GSD Venture Studios to everyone in a conversational format, sharing our experience, expertise, network and connections to share unique insights into what the future of tech and startups will look like down the line.

Having founded — and led to success — a number of successful startups and GSD Venture Studios, the show will revolve around interviews with thought leaders, bringing them together to speak about trends and directions in global technology and AI. And the first episode will offer a peek into the future of Emotion AI and Going Global, featuring AI serial entrepreneur, Dr. David Yang, CEO and Co-Founder of Yva.ai and Founder of ABBYY.

Based in Silicon Valley, David is a member of the Band of Angels and has the most captivating journey that brought him to where he is today. He started his first company, ABBYY, back in 1989 when he was in his 4th year as a student at MIPT. The company became a global success over years — today, ABBYY has over 1,000 employees and is a leading developer of Artificial Intelligence, Content Intelligence, Optical Character Recognition, and Text Analytics software with offices in 11 countries. Thousands of companies and more than 50 million users in 200 countries rely on ABBYY applications and solutions.

David has become a leading authority of the use of AI for employee engagement — his current company, Yva.ai, explores new applications of machine learning and AI to revolutionize employee engagement, happiness and productivity in the current context of global companies, remote teams, and increased need for solutions to accommodate the changing landscape of business and people operations.

There is so much potential to where these talks can go and what topics they can explore: shaped and developed by the natural conversations that flow between industry thought leaders and experts, they will cover the hottest topics in current and future trends in AI, globalization, success in times of change and volatility, and more. They will also include interviews with top-tier VC’s about their investments and opinions, sharing snippets of GSD’s far-reaching network and bringing it to our audience in biweekly show episodes.
